Reiner Smith, a Virginia-licensed attorney, has been practicing law in the Richmond area for more than 14 years. His practice consists of:
the representation of individuals, borrowers, seller, lenders and title companies in real estate transactions

estate planning and administration services
commercial litigation
He has represented clients in the United States Federal District Court, United States Bankruptcy Court and all levels of Virginia Courts.
In his spare time, Reiner is an avid West Virginia University sports fan and frequently attends games at his alma mater. When not cheering on the Mountaineers, he enjoys playing soccer, traveling, exercising, and spending time with his wife and three children.

Alex focuses his practice on start-ups, high-growth businesses and commercial real estate. His services include:

Alex has advised numerous sponsors on real estate investment trusts ("REITs"), 1031 syndications and private placements of real estate investments.
Alex is an adjunct professor at the Appalachian School of Law, teaching a course titled "Entrepreneur Law," a practicum course that gives students hands-on experience in servicing a business client in the various stages of its life cycle, including projects such as limited liability company formation, advising the client on capital raising, and disposition of the company in a private M&A exit.

Office Manager
Alicia’s warmth and innate ability to make everyone feel welcomed and heard shapes our firm’s culture of treating every client like family. In fact, Alicia is family. For 22 years, she’s been Reiner’s partner in marriage and work, and they share three children and three dogs. As office manager, Alicia makes sure we work with excellence and never lose sight of the fact that people are more important than tasks.
Catherine Escobar
Office Assistant
Catherine started her career as a medical assistant. As she began her family, her needs brought her home to raise her children. Now that they are school aged, Catherine brings her organizational skills, focused mind and attention to detail to Reiner Smith Law. When Catherine is not working, she spends her time with her husband and their two children, watching them play soccer and dance.
